Illustrations (2018-2019)

It’s been just over a year since I started getting serious about improving my digital art. On this page, I’d like to share some of the illustrations that I’ve done along the way that I didn’t feel warranted full posts.

Mountain Giant (2019)

I found this guy in one of my sketchbooks from the fall, I think I doodled him during a football game. Anyway, he leapt off the page at me so I wanted to recreate him in full vectored colors. A friend commented that the style was reminiscent of the legendary Takeshi Murakami.

Lamp on Black Screen (2018)

You can find inspiration anywhere you look. This piece was inspired by the reflection of my lamp on the powerless television screen. I found the light fascinating and decided to try my hand at capturing it in a minimalist style.

Dance of the Dead (2018)

This is a partner piece to the previous one, as the lamp had been adjusted to cast my shadow on the wall while I danced with myself, haha. This is a vectored screen shot from the video I filmed of the dance.

Daisy Girl Finds the Light (2019)

What started as a character sketch from imagination ended up over run by imagination. This yellow 70’s aesthetic lady has found her way out of the cosmic void and on to some purpose. I had fun etching this one out in a negative style, cutting away the bright blob to reveal the background.
